Subjective Evaluation
Analyzing the text in regard to first impression, emotional reaction, plot expectations, and any of the author's specific concerns.
What you will receive: Tracked comments within the manuscript and a separate document summarizing and addressing specific issues.
Developmental Editing
Analyzing writing style, plot, organization, tone, language, clarity, economy, pacing, and character development.
What you will receive: Separate document with editorial analysis and (if needed) tracked comments within the manuscript.
Line Editing
Suggesting improvements in sentence structure, word choice, clarity, tone, transitions, flow, and formatting. Eliminating wordiness, repetition, and clichés. Includes elements of copyediting.
What you will receive: Edited manuscript with tracked changes and comments and (if needed) separate document with editorial notes that address specific issues.
Copyediting
Correcting spelling, word usage, syntax, consistency, grammar, and punctuation. Fact-checking upon request.
What you will receive: Edited manuscript with tracked changes and comments.
Proofreading
Marking any errors in spelling, consistency, syntax, grammar, punctuation, and formatting on a galley or typeset proof.
What you will receive: Marked proof highlighting any errors and (if needed) comments addressing specific issues, either tracked within the proof or in a separate document.
Admissions Essays and Personal Statements - Full Critique
Critique will address adherence to the question, organization, clarity, focus, tone, as well as all elements of Line Editing and Copyediting.
What you will receive: Edited draft with tracked changes and comments.
Resumés, CVs, and Cover Letters - Full Critique
Critique will address organization, clarity, focus, tone, economy, as well as all elements of Line Editing and Copyediting.
What you will receive: Edited draft with tracked changes and comments.
Query/Pitch Letters - Full Critique or Copywriting
Critique will address adherence to individual agents' or editors' submission guidelines, representation of the manuscript and narrative voice, clarity, economy, structure, as well as all elements of Line Editing and Copyediting. Also available as a full Copywriting service.
What you will receive: Edited draft with tracked changes, or complete and original letter ready for submission.
Individual services are available for all of the above; it is not required to submit for a full critique.

After revisions have been made, clients can receive discounted rates for submitting the same project for the same service:
Second drafts: 10% off full price of original quote
Beyond second drafts: 20% off full price of original quote
Refer a friend to receive a 10% discount on the first draft of each of your upcoming projects. (Does not apply to previously completed projects or projects currently in process. Both parties must sign a project agreement for the discount to apply. Cannot be combined with other discounts.)
